Imagine how crazy people would think you were if it was 1970 and you predicted that in 2013 the fastest civilian jet would be the top of the line Cessna?

the fastest jet that can be civilian owned is the Mig 25 FOXBAT…..mach 2.5 , although i dunno if I would trust that warsaw pact piece of tin to go that fast.

The fastest civilian jet is the Citation X or it’s new variant: Citation 10. It’s speed is Mach .91. However as you may know, one of the fastest civilian jets was the Concorde which was a supersonic commercial jet that flew at speeds of Mach 2+

The Citation X is the fastest operational civilian jet.
If you want really fast civilian jets,which are retired, try looking up SSTs like Concorde/Tu-144.
